Role Responsibilities

The Family Resource Network (FRN) program is a network of 131 agencies working together through a hub and spoke model to provide high quality prevention and early intervention services to children, youth and families. As an Early Intervention Specialist, you will focus on supporting the development and delivery of prevention and early intervention programming across the province through the provincially funded FRN program.

This position helps support the strategic priorities of the FRN program to ensure all provincial prevention and early intervention supports align with the Well-Being and Resiliency Framework (including the Well-being and Resiliency Evaluation Framework and the Kâ-nâkatohêhk miyo-ohpikinawâwasowin).

You will collaborate with the Prevention, Early Intervention/Family Resource Network as well as Division staff to provide support and guidance to funded agencies that provide FRN programs and services across the province through ongoing collaboration and grant management/oversight activities.

This position takes an active role in the development and growth of the FRN program, supporting community networks of prevention and intervention services that wrap around families. In this position, you will contribute to continuous improvement efforts and support future FRN program development by working with various stakeholders to develop and enhance the FRN program and continually improve outcomes for children and families.

In this position, you will be providing a high level of individualized support to provincial FRN agencies. You will provide assistance to enhance program development, service delivery, outcome and indicator measurement and facilitate relationship development within and amongst FRNs. This role is crucial to the success to the growth and development of the FRN program.

In this position, you will develop communications materials that are appropriate for both internal and public audience(s), which includes: briefing notes, reports, status updates, and presentations to support Ministry level understanding of the FRN program.

This position requires travelling approximately 25-50% to meet with FRN grant holders and other stakeholders across Alberta.

Qualifications

Minimum Recruitment Standard:

Bachelor of Social Work and 2 years related experience

Equivalency: Master of Social Work and 1 year related experience; OR related university degree and 4 years related experience; OR related diploma and 5 years related experience; OR related certificate and 6 years related experience.

Related Experienced Will Be Considered As Follows

  • Experience working in the Prevention and Early Intervention area, knowledge of the Well-Being and Resiliency Framework and the Family Resource Network (FRN) Program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Kâ-nâkatohêhk miyo-ohpikinawâwasowin: Incorporating an Indigenous Worldview into Prevention and Early Intervention Programming and Evaluation
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles, data analytic software and strong computer skills, including ability to work efficiently and effectively with Microsoft Office.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday – 36.25 hours per week.

  • Ability to travel throughout the province is required. As such, a valid class 5 driver’s license is required.
  • Successful applicants who possess a BSW, MSW, or Diploma in Social Work from an Alberta College will be required to maintain registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers.
