Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Communications, the Communications Consultant is responsible for leading the end-to-end development and delivery of strategic communications plans and programs, some of which will include media relations and issues management. In overseeing these projects, the Communication Consultant applies highly developed communication planning, project management, implementation, measurement and writing skills.

How You Will Create Impact

  • Create strategic communication plans, including large-scale, cross-company, multi-functional and multi-phased projects, and initiatives. As required, work with business partners to guide and coordinate supporting communication activities (i.e., Internal Creative Agency and Translation).
  • Consult with internal clients to determine their objectives and establish the scope of their requirements. Develop creative recommendations and strategic solutions for communication programs targeted to internal, external, and Advisor audiences.
  • Lead the execution of all plan elements, including measurement, ensuring programs and projects are successfully delivered on time and on budget.
  • Provide strategic communications counsel to leaders in the organization, including the development of key messages and positioning through organizational changes, to help them achieve their business objectives.
  • Support the development and delivery of executive visibility plans for internal and external audiences.
  • Act as support for a range of crisis communications and issues management activity for multiple audiences.
  • Write and edit content for a wide range of communication initiatives and mediums (i.e., internal publications, video scripts, intranet, etc.).
  • Monitor and apply communication best practices and current/emerging trends.

To Join Our Team

  • At least 5-7 years of business experience providing communication consultation, planning expertise and project management skills, to a variety of corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Proven experience in communication planning and execution with demonstrated results in coordinating and leading all aspects of complex communication programs, including measurement.
  • Proven experience in crisis communications and issues management.
  • Highly skilled writing, editing and research skills; the ability to perform these tasks quickly and to deadline.

  • You may travel on occasion.
