The Opportunity

JOB DESCRIPTION

Make your mark while you grow your career! You will work within Canadian Natural Central Region; a dynamic, core area of diverse O&G operations contributing 175 Mboepd production. This role primarily provides technical support to the Production Engineering team on a wide range of projects to maximize production value & optimize resources through all levels of the O&G life cycle. Travel to field to interact with Operations may be required occasionally.

Key Accountabilities

  • Work with engineers & managers to identify & deliver on production and economic focused opportunities within the assets; Contribute to all stages of project planning, execution, deliverables & reporting
  • Collaborate with lateral groups such as Exploitation, Completions, Financial Planning, Marketing & Facilities
  • Familiarity with various O&G industry reporting/mapping applications to collect, track or analyze information such as production data, financial metrics, well activities & GHG parameters
  • Work involves both downhole & surface/lift production initiatives
  • Develop or maintain pipeline-modelling evaluations for both new projects & optimization initiatives. Experience with facilities including compressors considered an asset
  • Develop & support databases, data analytics, reporting tools & visualizations for varied projects

What You Bring To The Role

  • 2+ years of industry experience with a post-secondary diploma or engineering degree equivalent. Some exposure to Regulatory guidelines & procedures considered advantageous
  • Production focused capabilities, but exposure to other O&G facets beneficial (exploration, exploitation, transportation, reclamation)
  • Demonstrated team contributor as assignments vary. Self-motivation, attention to detail & methodical approach to tackling complex challenges
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel
  • Exposure to analytics applications such as Tableau, PowerBI, KNIME, Spotfire considered an asset
  • Effective communication of engineering-specific concepts and the ability to extract, transform, and structure data to meet the technical requirements of engineering & managerial level audiences
