What you'll do:


Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Architecture, the Data Architect is responsible for designing data solutions that enable strategic business goals, and ensuring that all the data solutions are aligned with the business needs. This role ensures all policies, principles, models, standards, technologies, and processes are in place to ensure data is treated as a strategic asset for the organization.


The Data Architect shares responsibility for the overall enterprise architecture and works collaboratively with product managers, solution and system architects to establish the data architecture and frameworks that facilitate access to and flexible sharing and exchange of enterprise data.


This position, in close collaboration with business and technology leaders across the organization, supports effective change by understanding business challenges and translating them into requirements/solutions and is a champion of data architecture and management practices which enable business information and data goals to be realized.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing enterprise data architecture framework, and developing robust data models and data architecture solution(s) that align with strategic business requirements and accurately represent business entities, relationship and data flow.
  • Converting business requirement to logical data models and information data flows, and working with stakeholders to define data requirements and translate them into the data architecture framework, information and data flows, standards, and principles, including modeling, data dictionaries, metadata, security, reference data and client categories. Creating and maintaining robust documentation as required.
  • Lead the design of migration to a modern data architecture. Deliverables may include: data migration strategy (towards on-premise to cloud-based data platforms, from batch to real time processing, towards best-of-breed platforms, from point-to-point to decoupled access, from enterprise warehouses to domain-based architectures, from rigid data models to flexible data schemas)
  • Be a key member of project(s) teams responsible for delivering key data architecture solution(s).
  • Explains / presents complex ideas; anticipates potential objections and prepares case accordingly.
  • Collaborating with system and solution architects to align enterprise system and data architecture to realize business goals (largely internal but occasionally wider stakeholders across the property ecosystem)
  • Assessing and optimizing existing data models to improve performance, scalability, data integrity, security, accessibility, and interoperability.
  • Collaborating with Database Administrators (DBA) and data analysts to optimize data storage and retrieval and integration for future data science and analytical usage.
  • Providing guidance and support to development teams in implementing and adhering to data modeling and data architecture principles.
  • Collaborating with Information Asset and Business Process owners as part of team defining data management and governance processes and executing on data management improvement plans.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define data modeling, data architecture standards, principles, and guidelines to ensure consistency and reusability across organization.
  • Overseas the evaluation of emerging data modeling techniques, tools, and technologies and recommending their adoption as appropriate.
  • Staying up-to-date with emerging trends and advancements in data architecture, data modeling, NoSQL databases, and GraphQL.

Education and Experience


  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, or a similar role, preferably in a cloud-based environment.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • Extensive experience in data modeling, including conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling for enterprise systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to translate complex business requirements into effective data models and data architecture solution.
  • Able to architect for serverless data platforms, Can develop AWS based containerized data solution
  • Experience with Data pipeline and API-based interfaces (preferably API management platform)
  • Knowledge of migrating from traditional to Event based data architectures
  • Aware of Data virtualization techniques on Cloud. (prefer AWS).
  • Strong proficiency in data modeling tools and techniques such as PowerDesigner, ER/Studio or Erwin.
  • Experience and proficiency in the Land Administration Domain Model (LADM) for land administration and management systems is a valuable asset. Experience with NoSQL or GraphQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j and understanding of their data modeling approaches.
  • Experience with stream processing, messaging platforms like Kafka, and platform for buffer transactions is an advantage
  • Familiarity with GraphQL and its usage for efficient data retrieval and manipulation.


We are dedicated to transparency in our hiring process. $116,200- $145,200 annually, reflects a reasonable expectation for pay for the position depending on qualifications and experience. This compensation is specific to the role within our organization and takes into account a wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to job-related skills, experience and relevant training or education, business and organizational needs.
