Reporting Relationships

This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

Summary

The RADCO Companies is currently seeking a Director of Risk Management to manage the corporate and property level risk in a manner that is consistent with the goals and objectives of the company. This individual must have the drive, knowledge, and confidence to oversee and manage the Liability, Property and Executive Risk coverage programs, claims administration, and safety policies and procedures for the company and its assets. The main objective of the Director of Risk Management is to balance the company’s risk profile with the cost and breadth of our insurance coverage. He/she must be a strategic thinker with the ability to balance short term goals with long term sustainability.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Coverage
    • Manage insurance coverage needs for RADCO, its affiliates, and subsidiaries including, but not limited to, corporate, property, general liability, umbrella, workers’ compensation, and auto.
    • Assist CFO with timely renewal and negotiations of all insurance policies held by RADCO, through RADCO’s insurance broker.
    • Ensure all insurance policies held by RADCO are compliant with lender requirements.
    • Provide executive team members with guidance regarding risk and risk management platform and the structure of the risk management group.
    • Leverage relationships, both internally and externally, to evaluate and improve RADCO’s risk profile.


  • Claims Administration
    • Administer all corporate, workers’ compensation, general liability, and property claims made by, or against, RADCO, including claims adjusting, tracking, analytics, and reporting.
    • Assist with responding to lawsuits, including responding to discovery demands.
    • Review and negotiate internal insurance settlements, as needed.


  • Risk Management Policies and Procedures
    • Review, update, maintain, and implement all risk management policies and procedures.
    • Review, update, maintain, and implement inter-departmental training and training materials with respect to risk management.
  • Address any other risk management related issues that may arise.
Education/Experience And Technical Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management or related field
  • ARM a plus
  • Experience in real estate and/or property management is preferred
  • Familiarity with small captive insurance programs a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in risk management, business administration, or related field is preferred
  • Strong analytics skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and ability to plan, manage, and execute projects independently or with little guidance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly-changing environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required
  • Some out-of-state travel may be required
