The successful applicants will assess clients presenting with a variety of communication disorders and swallowing difficulties; develop and implement treatment plans; and provide professional recommendations and support to clients, families, caregivers, and others involved in the client’s care.

The Speech Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager- Branch level, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Speech and Language Pathology intervention, in accordance with professional standards.

The Speech Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager- Branch level, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Speech and Language Pathology intervention, in accordance with professional standards.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
- Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Audiologists and Speech-language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans.
- Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed..
- Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
- Observes the performance of those assisting in the speech and language program and provides guidance as necessary.
- Maintain active standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
- Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
- Adhere to Bayshore ICS Policies and Procedures
- Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
- Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
- Complete other tasks as requested
- Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists required.
- Three years’ experience providing Speech-Language Pathology services preferred.
- Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments;
- Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner.
- Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
- Commitment to continued learning.
- Valid driver’s license.
