Scheduling Areas may include one of the following areas - Brantford, Brant County

The successful applicants will assess clients presenting with a variety of communication disorders and swallowing difficulties; develop and implement treatment plans; and provide professional recommendations and support to clients, families, caregivers, and others involved in the client’s care.

The Speech Language Pathologist, under the direction of the Clinical Manager- Branch level, is responsible for completion of professional activities that include: assessment, treatment, education, and management of clients requiring Speech and Language Pathology intervention, in accordance with professional standards.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintains current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Audiologists and Speech-language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Documents assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress and discharge plans.
  • Collaborates with other members of the health care team as needed..
  • Communicates pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provides education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Observes the performance of those assisting in the speech and language program and provides guidance as necessary.

Other Responsibilities

  • Maintain active standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external education activities
  • Adhere to Bayshore ICS Policies and Procedures
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System
  • Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel
  • Complete other tasks as requested

Qualifications

  • Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists or Speech-Language Pathologists required.

Experience

  • Three years’ experience providing Speech-Language Pathology services preferred.
  • Experience completing in-home assessments and treatments;

Other Skills And Abilities

  • Strong communication (oral and written) and exceptional interpersonal and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations in an objective and consistent manner.
  • Ability to work independently and to effectively collaborate with a team.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of personal computers, and proficiency with secure email.
  • Commitment to continued learning.
  • Valid driver’s license.
