Job Summary

  • Manage the activities of the unit by developing plans, establishing priorities, allocating staff to meet branch objectives and adapt to client demands and priorities, as well as evaluating work performance.
  • Conduct research and analysis on issues and concerns as identified by management.
  • Act as a resource person and provide expertise, advice, guidance, and information concerning digitization / archives technology/production/processes and techniques, as dictated by policy.
  • Develop, recommend, implement and maintain policies, procedures and guidelines by collaborating with IM resources and stakeholders.
  • Prepare detailed documents and reports on issues pertaining to projects, by gathering information and data, and conducting analysis and assessments of gaps and opportunities.
  • Ensure the Digitization / Archives program is compliant in accordance with established IM and life cycle management policies and procedures by conducting regular and ongoing Quality Control and Quality Assurance practices.
  • Liaise with other government departments and agencies in order to ensure that the organization is able to remain effective and efficient when new technology/equipment, projects and policies are being developed and introduced.

Education

  • Undergraduate degree and two (2) years of experience*
  • College diplomas and four (4) years of experience*
  • High school diploma and six (6) years of experience*

The educational program must be from an accredited learning institution recognized in Canada. If you completed a program outside of Canada, you will be required to obtain proof of a Canadian equivalency at your expense through a recognized credential assessment service.

Note: Any higher level of education in a related field of study could be recognized as experience.

Experience

  • *Experience working in an Information Management environment, including research and analysis in support of the digitization, life cycle management and/or archiving of information.
  • *Experience writing various types of reports using Microsoft Office suite applications such as Word and Excel.
  • *Experience communicating and/or advising employees on policies and procedures.
  • One (1) year of formal supervisory experience

Assets

Assets enhance the ability to perform the work, based on current and future business requirements, but are not strictly required. Assets can help determine the ‘right fit’.

  • Experience with the following computer applications: BRS, Palantir, Info Depot, GCDOCS / OTCS, RMIS or RDIMS, Datacap, Scandall Pro, Adobe Pro and/or Kofax Power PDF Advanced.
  • Experience reviewing the content of documents for archival significance within the retention procedures/policies/archival disposition schedules.
  • Experience with the preparation and digitization of documents, as well as performing quality control / quality assurance on digitized documents/images as part of the digitization process.

Candidates who do not currently meet the language requirements of the position may still apply. Security Requirements

Candidates must be eligible to receive an Enhanced Top Secret security clearance. The process involves a security interview, a polygraph, and a background investigation that includes credit and financial verifications. The use of illegal drugs is a criminal offense.
