The Role

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be instrumental in leading the project management of design and construction for major healthcare and laboratory projects. Your responsibilities will include overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the design and construction process, ensuring the successful completion of cutting-edge healthcare and lab facilities. Your expertise will be critical in managing the design team, consultants, and stakeholders to deliver exceptional architectural and engineering solutions while meeting project timelines and budgetary constraints.

What You’ll Do

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors to develop and implement design strategies that align with healthcare and laboratory standards and project objectives.
  • Manage the design development process from concept through construction documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation, ensuring accuracy, quality, and completeness.
  • Coordinate and facilitate design workshops, meetings, and presentations with project stakeholders to gather feedback, address concerns, and make informed design decisions.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks or issues, and implement effective mitigation strategies to keep the project on track.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative design environment, encouraging creativity, sustainability, and best practices in healthcare and laboratory design and construction.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports, updates, and presentations to project sponsors, clients, and key stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong team player with a growth mindset and a passion for what you do!
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field; professional architectural or engineering license preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager overseeing complex architectural or engineering projects, particularly in healthcare or laboratory design and construction.
  • Extensive knowledge of architectural and engineering design principles, building codes, and healthcare/laboratory guidelines.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate design activities effectively.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets, schedules, and resources while delivering high-quality design outcomes.
  • Eligibility to obtain a Government of Canada Secret clearance. Existing Government of Canada Secret clearance is an asset.
