What You’ll Do

It’s safe to say, there’s no shortage of variety in what we do. Here are some key accountabilities of the role:

  • Assist Ocean Transportation Manager in managing the relationship and performance of the ocean carriers.
  • Review space report from origin, follow up with carriers on space allocation, pending releases and operation challenges, indicate FEUs subject to dead freight if any to ensure optimal space allocation -
  • Leads origin calls, makes sure origin is following booking directions and provides instructions if needed to ensure compliance to SLA’s and SOP
  • Ensures containers arrive at destination in alignment with on water transit time as part of accountability for flow management
  • Spend tracking and management – ensuring most optimal spend, alignment with Manager and Manager Of, on spend outside of contracts
  • Assists the International team in resolving flow exceptions and ensures root causes of issues are identified and resolved
  • Proactively reports merchandise flow interruptions and proposes resolutions to International Transportation Manager


What You’ll Need

To begin your career with us, we require the following:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or discipline required; CITT designation is an asset
  • Strong logical reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills, including working with large volume of data to create insight and meaning
  • Ability to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment; respond efficiently and effectively to incoming requests and resolve issues in supply chain network according to area of accountability
  • Flexible and adaptable; priorities change frequently based on business demands, the ability to change direction quickly is critical
  • Interpersonal skills including conflict management; information gathering skills; team building skills to build collaborative working relationships
  • Customer service skills including efficiently and effectively responding to inquires or resolving any conflicts or problems that might arise
  • management; ability to implement and manage details, prioritize, time manage and multi-task with limited supervision and sometimes under time pressure
  • Process improvement mindset with ability to identify root cause of issues and implement corrective actions, partnering with other teams as required


Salary Range: $73,190 - $102,410/year

  

This represents the expected hiring range and may not represent the full pay range for the position. The salary offered may be higher than the posted range depending on several factors such as relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
