Position Summary

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the general direction of the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for delivering HR services to a site, including coordinating team member requests and changes, as well as providing administrative support. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Processes HR paperwork and maintains site files
  • Prepares internal correspondence as directed
  • Manages and maintains lists of regulatory requirements
  • Conducts site orientations
  • Responds to employment verification requests
  • Coordinates WSIB Claims to ensure accuracy
  • Assists with recruitment including but not limited to attending career fairs, interviewing candidates, reference checking, referring candidates
  • Provides HR advice to team members and site managers; refers to the Manager, Human Resources when necessary
  • Liaises with other locations on team member and file transfers
  • May attend the OH&S meetings as an employer representative
  • Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
  • Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
  • Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
  • Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education And Qualifications

  • High School Diploma; post-secondary education in HR or a suitable combination of education and experience
  • HR Designation an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of HR or administrative support experience
  • Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
  • Computer literacy in MS Office; and HRIS experience an asset
  • Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License

Work Environment Considerations

  • Regular office and casino environment, non-traditional work hours may be required in certain circumstances, some travel may be required
