Position Title: Intermediate Technology Specialist - Enterprise Platforms Developer

Reports To: Senior Technology Manager, Enterprise Platforms

Department: Enterprise Platforms

Term: Permanent Full-Time

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

Enterprise Platforms covers a specialized area dedicated to high-quality scalable and reliable applications with Equitable. Your activities will include designing, developing, documenting, testing, and implementing changes to our core systems while working closely with business partners, business analysts and IT staff.

What you will be doing:

  • Design and program high-performance, scalable applications and database solutions
  • Work closely with systems analysts, business analysts, and quality analysts to develop alternative solutions to meet business needs
  • Document all program and system changes for ease of production support
  • Analyze production system problems and recommend workable solutions
  • Investigate and solve production problems with minimal guidance
  • Make recommendations when new technologies should be used
  • Production and some On-call support

What you will bring:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science or a related field
  • A strong technical background with at least 1-3 years of experience in:
  • React MUI web development
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 - 6.0 .NET Core using C#
  • Microsoft SQL Server and Transact SQL
  • A working knowledge of JSON and XML and related technologies like XSD, SOAP, and WSDL Experience with Microsoft IIS
  • Experience with CMS platforms like Kentico and Umbraco is required
  • Experience with Microservices architecture
  • A working knowledge of Azure or Cloud based computing environment
  • A working knowledge of file security, SQL security, and windows authentication
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server or Azure DevOps considered an asset
  • Hands on experience with deploying and maintaining applications within Azure or Cloud based computing environment considered an asset
