Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety by developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. This position will require occasional travel to their branches to ensure compliance with provincial and local health and safety regulations.

Job Title: Health & Safety Advisor

Our client is seeking a skilled and motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring workplace safety by developing and implementing health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, investigating incidents, and promoting a culture of safety across the organization. This position will require occasional travel to their branches to ensure compliance with provincial and local health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Occupational Health and Safety (OH& S) policies.
- Oversee injury management and liaise with worker compensation boards.
- Maintain safety compliance in IS Net World and Complyworks.
- Conduct facility inspections, audits, and lead third-party safety inspections.
- Manage safety training and hazard assessments.
- Act as the safety subject matter expert (SME) for all projects and equipment.
- Coordinate Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC) meetings.
- Facilitate new hire safety orientation and manage PPE inventory.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or working towards it.
- Experience with health and safety compliance portals like Complyworks and IS Net World.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
