We are looking for an innovative graphic and multimedia designer to create, develop and deliver compelling visual concepts and designs across a range of brand communication platforms (digital, video, social, web and print) for internal and external audiences.
You will work closely with members of the Specialty Communications & Marketing team and other stakeholders. Among your technical skill sets in graphic design and video editing, you are a collaborative team member that has a strong focus on customer service. The ideal candidate also has a clear understanding that our work follows business priorities and not just trends. We value our written and visual stories to enrich the relationship we have with our customers, employees, shareholders, media and society.
Versatility, flexibility and enthusiasm are important – you’ll be equally excited about designing a weekly newsletter as you will be producing a fully integrated digital campaign. And, you’ll be tuned into new multimedia channels and formats and eager to incorporate and test them.

What You Will Do
- Ensure all communications and marketing materials support the organization’s brand and image and promote achievement of the organization’s objectives.
- Make recommendations based on the needs of the project.
- Advance the brand according to evolving brand guidelines.
- Plan, manage and execute projects and work with a cross-functional group of stakeholders to ensure deliverables are creative, effective and reflect high quality work.
- Contribute meaningfully to communications plans with creative ideas and new approaches that break through the clutter.
- Use typography, colour theory, and creative thinking to conceptualize the design and layout, all while consistently applying corporate brand guidelines.
- Determine communication mediums, purpose, and targeted audience to guide the design process.
- Support brand communication campaigns through newsletter and presentation design, social and digital content, video concepts and editing, and campaign materials, including core brand assets.
- Advocate and create user-centred, data-driven design.
- Contribute to the design and creation of communications templates for bulletins, FAQs, product sheets and more.
- Manage and update a broker-facing microsite and internal Sharepoint site.
- Collaborate with US design counterparts to maximize efficiency and ensure consistency where appropriate.
- A strong online portfolio that displays your creative, on-brand and customer-driven thinking; please ensure your link is included in your resume or application.
- Formal graphic design training with a degree/diploma earned from a recognized college or university program.
- Minimum five years of multimedia and graphic design experience.
- Proficient in motion graphics/video editing and video production.
- Experience using Adobe CC, with a solid knowledge of After Effects, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere Pro.
- Strong collaboration skills; previous consulting experience an asset.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, evaluate/weigh issues and trends.
- Ability to work well under pressure, complete multiple assignments and function effectively in a high-volume workplace with tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational, project management and planning skills
- No Canadian work experience required but must have authorization to work in Canada.
