The Opportunity

Leavitt Machinery is looking for a driven Specialty Products Sales & Rentals Representative to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As the Specialty Products Sales & Rentals Representative, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of all sales and business development activity in your assigned territory, with a focus on selling Compact Construction Equipment and Wheeled Loaders.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

As the Specialty Products Sales & Rentals Representative your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the sales strategy and plan in your assigned territory, including prospecting, managing sale leads, and maintaining strong relationships with existing and new customers
  • Developing expertise in selling the assigned construction equipment, and conducting on-site equipment demonstrations
  • Retaining business relationships and growing existing customer accounts by proactively identifying opportunities and presenting innovative solutions to customers
  • Delivering customized, effective, and solution-oriented sales pitches, using prior research, market data, product expertise, and sales skills to prepare
  • Tactfully and professionally negotiating with customers to successfully close deals and secure client accounts
  • Identifying and building relationships with decision makers within existing accounts, establishing yourself and Leavitt Machinery as a trusted advisor and partner
  • Reviewing target customer opportunities and providing input regarding the sales strategy, ensuring alignment within the overall account strategy
  • Ensuring fulfillment of customer contract terms and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborating with product experts to identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities
  • Conducting follow-ups with customers on orders, quotes, and service requests


Required Skills & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, knowledge, and competencies:

  • 2 to 3 years of B2B sales experience, ideally in a comparable industry (construction, industrial, machinery, etc.)
  • Prior experience in construction equipment sales a strong asset, specifically class Compact Construction Equipment and Wheeled Loaders construction equipment
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, demonstrating professionalism and providing incredible customer service
  • A true team player who is willing to be coached as well as support others
  • High motivation and resilience, with the ability to consistently achieve goals while operating both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills, planning skills, negotiation skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Maintaining a valid driver’s license is required
  • Ability to travel within the region as needed

The base pay range for this role is: $40,000 annually plus initial bridge salary and uncapped commission.


This is a hybrid role based in Calgary, Alberta.
