Lafarge Construction provides Construction services in the City of Edmonton and surrounding areas. Lafarge Construction is based in Edmonton, AB and is currently seeking a seasonal, full-time Backhoe Operator

Position Description

The accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Pre and post trip inspections.
  • Minor truck and equipment maintenance.
  • Operate and maintain a track hoes and all attachments.
  • Trenching
  • Fine grading & finishing
  • Excavation
  • Backfilling
  • Clean up sites.
  • Other labour duties as required.

Qualifications

The successful applicant will possess the following:

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Min 2 years of experience operating a back hoe
  • Knowledge of City of Edmonton Specifications
  • Mechanically Inclined
  • Knowledge of the City of Edmonton and surrounding area
  • Ability to read survey markings.

In addition to the above, the successful candidate will be expected to exercise sound judgment, work safely and communicate effectively in a team. This position is physically demanding and requires crouching, bending, lifting, and kneeling. As such, clearance on a pre-employment medical is required. The successful candidate will have a proven record of following safe work procedures and be able to complete field risk assessments.
