Job Description

We're searching for an energetic and talented GIS/CAD Specialist to join our Environmental Services team! Whether you're based in one of our Western Canadian offices—Burnaby, Fort St. John, Sherwood Park, or Calgary, this role is your chance to make a significant impact. We are open to a remote work arrangement with the right person. You'll create detailed, high-quality reporting figures for Stage/Phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments, bringing your data analysis and AutoCAD skills to life. What would you be doing?

  • Assist leadership with program enhancements, prioritize project delivery, manage service requests, and ensure quality assurance for project deliverables.
  • Guide GIS staff on procedural issues, mentor team members, facilitate training for business units, and document processes and integrations.
  • Support the creation and updating of GIS maps, perform spatial analysis, and produce maps using field data, AutoCAD, and other tools.
  • Use AutoCAD to create 2D/3D models, manipulate historical aerial photos, and generate groundwater models, risk maps, and environmental diagrams.
  • Analyze field data, generate GPS coordinates, and create accurate report figures for environmental assessments and pipeline diagrams.
  • Collaborate with project managers and field staff to ensure data accuracy, adhere to QA/QC standards, and support additional projects as required.

Does this sound like you?

  • 5+ years of hands-on drafting experience in environmental consulting or a related field.
  • Technical degree/diploma in Environmental Science, Computer Science, Geography, Geoscience, Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in Autodesk and Bentley products, including AutoCAD, GINT, and Surfer, with additional skills in Microsoft Office and PDF tools.
  • Experience creating 2D and 3D drawings and interpreting technical drawings accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations related to contaminated sites and waste management, and strong communication and teamwork abilities.
