The following unanticipated positions for a Sessional Lecturer are available in the Department of Management for the Winter 2025 academic session. This posting is in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Governing Council of the University of Toronto and the Canadian Union of Public Employees, Local 3902 Unit 3.

Preference in hiring is given to qualified individuals advanced to the rank of Sessional Lecturer II or Sessional Lecturer III in accordance with Article 14:12.
In considering qualified applicants, teaching excellence, currency in and mastery of subject area; previous experience in teaching a similar course at undergraduate (university) level or similar environment; several years related professional experience shall be the criteria used in the selection of the most qualified candidate in accordance with Article 14:12.

Courses run as follows:
S Section (January-April): Monday, January 6, 2025 to Friday, April 4, 2025

The Exam period is as follows:
Wednesday, April 9, 2025 to Wednesday, April 30, 2025

Please note: All positions involve completion of all course grading. You must be available throughout the exam period as exams are scheduled centrally and individual preferences for exam times/dates cannot always be accommodated.

Minimum Qualifications

A master’s degree in organizational behaviour/industrial-organizational psychology OR a master’s degree in social/personality psychology with at least 2 courses at the graduate level in organizational psychology. A strong academic record along with previous experience teaching this course or a similar course at the undergraduate level OR experience with activities related to teaching this course (e.g., experience being a teaching assistant, teaching some sessions of the course, experience in course development etc.), OR professional experience in a related field (e.g., communication consultant, management consultant, public relations); previous experience teaching a university-level course, in the field of communications, with consistent, strong course evaluations.

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the minimum, a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior or Industrial-Organizational Psychology OR a Ph.D. in Human Resources Management/Social/Personality Psychology with at least 2 courses at the graduate level in organizational behaviour/organizational psychology. A strong academic record along with previous experience teaching this course or a similar course at the undergraduate level with good teaching evaluations.

Duties

All normal duties related to the design and teaching of a university credit course, including preparation and delivery of course content; development, administration and marking of assignments, tests and exams; calculation and submission of grades, holding regular office hours and maintaining reasonable availability for student and administrative contact, supervision of T.A. assigned to course.

Salary for a half-course (0.50 FCEs) inclusive of vacation pay: The Sessional Lecturer I rate of pay will be $9,457.89. Sessional Lecturer I-Long Term rate of pay will be $9,930.79. Sessional Lecturer II rate of pay will be $10,121.76. Sessional Lecturer II-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,326.61. Sessional Lecturer III rate of pay will be $10,362.76. Sessional Lecturer III-Long Term rate of pay will be $10,570.01.
