Job Description

RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC

The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary

The incumbent will oversee multiple projects related to research, education and training. One of the major projects for the incumbent will be the implementation of ongoing educational projects. The Project Manager will be responsible to ensure that all aspects of the projects are well planned and executed including managing budgets, presenters, attendees, and all other applicable logistics. The Project Manager will report to the Medical Director of the Trauma Program. This is a temporary occasional role with the possibility of becoming a full-time role in the future.

General Duties

  • Create and manage budgets, including allocation for materials, instructors, and technology,
  • Coordinate and schedule course dates, times, and locations to optimize resource utilization and participant availability,
  • Ensure the availability of necessary resources such as instructors, materials, and technology,
  • Prepare certificates of achievement,
  • Prepare all required documents for each course (such as exams, badges etc.),
  • Understands medical concepts to answer potential attendees’ questions about the topics,
  • Create invoices for the various hospitals as required for Residents taking each course,
  • Create executive summaries of required courses including the budget,
  • Process the reimbursements for instructors and coordinators,
  • Organize special project as requested by the Medical Director,
  • Collaborate with a large number of stakeholders including but not limited to representatives from other hospitals, medical students, residents, nurses, and physicians,
  • Accomplish other assigned tasks.

Education / Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study: Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Bachelor’s of Commerce with advanced medical understanding

Work Experience: 2 to 5 years

Required Skills

  • Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision.

Additional information

Status: Temporary, Occasional

Pay Scale: $29.85 to $55.43/hour Commensurate with education and experience

Work Shift: Variable schedule

Work Site: Montreal General Hospital
