Our client in Calgary is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Joint Venture Accountant with intermediate experience in Excel to join their financial team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of joint venture accounting, financial transactions, and thorough proficiency in Excel.

Our client in Calgary is seeking a committed and detail-oriented Joint Venture Accountant with intermediate experience in Excel to join their financial team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate is expected to have comprehensive knowledge of joint venture accounting, financial transactions, and thorough proficiency in Excel.
Responsibilities
- Manages the daily operation of the joint venture accounting function.
- Advise on joint venture project structuring including equity waterfall models, debt structuring, and other related matters.
- Preparing monthly financial statements, reports, forecasts, and budgets.
- Ensuring data accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assisting in auditing and tax planning as required.
- Fully managing and controlling Excel spreadsheets.
- Conducting financial analysis through Excel functions and macros.
- Ad-hoc duties as requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a joint venture setting.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, vlookups and macros.
- Knowledge of accounting software and databases.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Available to start immediately.
