Our client is a company specializing in residential and commercial renovations, with recognized expertise in post-disaster recovery. Committed to providing maximum satisfaction to their clients, they are looking for a qualified post-disaster estimator to join their expanding team in Mascouche. Under the supervision of the president, the post-disaster estimator will be responsible for assessing damage caused by disasters and estimating repair costs based on insurance policies. The ideal candidate will have technical expertise and a solid understanding of the renovation and insurance sectors.

Tasks

  • Assess the circumstances of disasters (fire, water damage, storms, etc.).
  • Follow up with experts regarding their visits and gather client feedback to justify the damages.
  • Evaluate the damage from the photos and videos provided.
  • Analyze and plan necessary interventions to estimate upcoming repairs.
  • Prepare expert documents (plans, estimates) and send them to the insurance companies.
  • Serve as the point of contact for insurers, answering their questions regarding estimates and plans.
  • Maintain regular contact with the client throughout the entire claims and renovation process.
  • Supervise and verify the quality of the work at each stage of the project.
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Job requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in evaluation.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and building codes.
  • Proficiency in computer skills.
  • Strong knowledge of residential renovation.
  • Training in the disaster recovery sector in Canada.
  • Bilingualism (an asset).
  • DEC in Estimation and Building Evaluation Technology, Architecture Technology, or Construction Estimation, or equivalent (an asset).
  • Knowledge of Prisme software (an asset).
