The Opportunity

• The Family Preservation Worker provides a range of supports aimed at promoting the well-being of children, youth and families. This position provides support to families who have experienced child protection interventions.

What You Will Bring To The Role

• Gathers information relevant to the client by interviewing, observing behaviour, meeting with caregivers and service providers and using a variety of inventories, checklists and questionnaires
• Provides support, guidance and problem-solving to clients to address issues related to family functioning in an individual or group setting using techniques such as active listening, conflict resolution, basic group counselling techniques and psycho-educational group methods to resolve the identified problems, needs and risks
• Liaise with Ministry of Children and Family Workers and other service providers
• Participates in the development, modification and evaluation of family service plans at integrated case management meetings on a regular basis to report clients’ activities and progress

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $30.96 – 40.10 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants’ role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
