As the Assistant, Sport Development, you will assist with planning and executing MLSE’s core youth programs, camps, and partner events and support a team of hourly staff.
You will be working on a fast paced, passionate and caring Sport Development Team. This team prides itself on creating the absolute best experience for the participants in our programs. We create a positive environment and build lifelong memories with the goal of continuing to grow our dedicated fanbase.
Position Type: Part Time, Contract
Contract Length: 4 Months
- Acting as the day-to-day contact for Sport Development programming. You will collaborate across departments for program integration (sponsorship, tickets, research & development, equity, diversity & inclusion, etc.). There are multiple priorities and considerations that go into everything that we do. In addition to internal coordination, you will build and maintain relationships and strong communication channels with parents and the broader sport community.
- Assist with the planning and execution of our Sport Development programs.This includes Camps, Clinic Series’, Coaches Open Houses along with our Corporate & Community Partner events and NHL, MLS & NBA mandated events. You will also support MLSE Foundation & MLSE Launchpad events.
- Assist with managing our social and web presence.You will be responsible for updating and coordinating content for www.raptorsdevelopment.com, www.leafsdevelopment.com and @raptorsdevelopment, @leafsdevelopment Instagram pages. You do not have to be super tech savvy, but you do need to be willing to learn.
- Assist MLSE Foundation and MLSE Launchpad colleagues with sport initiatives as required. You are part of a “one team” approach. We help and support each other with the delivery of our programs across all our teams and departments.

- You are an energy giver with a strong desire to learn and be coached. Your ability to be positive, lift up those around you, exercise empathy and kindness always while doing the right thing when no one is looking will be keys to your success in this role.
- You have experience with detailed event and logistical planning. You have experience creating and delivering a youth camp or day program. You can work independently with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail and are able to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines.
- You have excellent written and oral communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. You are extremely organized and have excellent administrative skills, are proficient in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and Canva, and are open-minded and quick to learn new software programs.
- You are creative. Creativity is necessary in multiple ways: Are you running an event and one of your coaches doesn’t show up? You will need to come up with a creative solution on the spot to ensure that youth have a positive experience (the show must go on!). Is our website in need of a refresh? You will run point on updating it, coming up with content ideas, and refreshing our social media posts. Being a “do-er” (with creative flair) will serve you well in this role.
