FR 50% Elem Contract, Grade 2 EFI: French Language, Science, Social Studies, & Arts; 12-3:45pm
Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB)
Date: 1 week ago
City: Kanata, ON
Contract type: Contractor
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board is the largest school board in
Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning.
Our nearly 150 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning
excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the
community at large. Our schools are teaching communities where principals,
vice-principals, teachers and support staff nurture student well-being and
challenge students to achieve their best.
We are seeking creative, dynamic, and committed teachers to join our team at South March PS.
South March PS is a dual track Kindergarten to Grade 6 school with almost 500 students. We also have two ASD specialized programs at our school. After Grade 6 students move to Jack Donohue P.S and later to West Carleton S.S for Gr 9-12. In 2009, students chose the penguin as our mascot. Their reasoning was that penguins work together in a community. Our school motto is "Home of the Proud, Positive, and Powerful Penguins"
We have a professional, experienced and dedicated staff who do everything they can to ensure a happy, challenging and safe learning environment for our students. Currently we have 6 KG classes each staffed by a French/English teacher as well as an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) as well as 24 homerooms. We also have a Learning Support Teacher (LST), a 0.5 Learning Resource Teacher (LRT), Educational Assistants (EAs), Lunch Time Monitors (LTMs) and a fantastic support staff (Office Administrators, Custodians, Library Technicians, etc....) as well as staff from Aladdin Daycare who are here to support our students' academic learning and social-emotional growth. Our grade 6 students go on to middle school at Vincent Massey, Alta Vista or St. Patrick HS.
Ideal candidates will support the fulfillment of the Ottawa-Carleton
District School Board’s (OCDSB) Strategic Plan to enhance the quality of
education in the school, and the District, by creating a positive and inclusive
school climate, learning and workplace environment. Candidates will have
excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a demonstrated ability to
work collaboratively and respectfully, with a human rights and equity
perspective, to foster student success, achievement and well-being.
