Overview

The Ontario Region Claims Team is hiring! As the Commercial Claims Specialist, reporting to the Director of Commercial Claims in the GTA, you will provide Gallagher clients with outstanding claims service and advocacy, maintaining and exceeding the service standards of the Gallagher Claims division. Your keen outlook and integrity are prerequisites to work with our dynamic team.

Work Environment Hybrid (Agile) – We at Gallagher enjoy the benefits of working remotely while also collaborating and interacting with each other in the office. This position can be based out of Gallagher's office locations in London or Stoney Creek.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • Intake of Commercial clients’ new claims and reporting to the insurance company
  • Provide claims counselling as required to insureds in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Advocate on claims, as needed, on client’s behalf with insurers
  • Data input using the EPIC Broker Management System
  • Maintain, coordinate and update client documents, including Word summaries and Excel spreadsheets
  • Lead claim analysis meetings with commercial clients and/or Client Solutions Team
  • Connect with the Client Solutions Team, adjusters and insureds with respect to open claims
  • Collaborate with Loss Control Adjusters to establish or modify existing programs
  • Liaise between insured and insurance carrier during settlement negotiations when required
  • Document and action incoming communication in a timely fashion
  • Attend occasional client meetings within the GTA as requested by management
  • Mentor new team members and facilitate onboarding within the claims department
  • Attend company sponsored seminars and educational activities needed to maintain product knowledge and expertise, and participate in projects at management’s request

About You

  • Claims Adjusting experience or Commercial Broker including Claims Advocacy
  • RIBO, CAIB, CIP designations an asset or courses completed towards designations
  • Prior Commercial Insurance and/or Claims experience required
  • Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task between a variety of tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Experience with EPIC and/or an electronic filing system an asset #
