We are looking for a Senior Manager of Development to join Global Wealth Management Technology (GWMT) – where we develop and modernize technology that powers the Global Wealth Management business lines. GWMT consists of many departments with high-performing agile teams working closely to deliver, support, and maintain the many applications and ecosystems within Global Wealth.


Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Help drive strategy to transform current platforms using new technologies and tools available that best support the business needs.
  • Incorporate modern technologies and practices to enhance user experience, redesign process flows, improve production support efforts, reduce operational costs, and improve security, availability, and reliability of overall business systems.
  • Be responsible for the design, architecture, and successful implementation of effective and quality solutions that resolve highly complex business problems and support business needs.
  • Oversee the support of critical business applications and work to continuously improve service levels while building strong relationships with key business and technical partners.
  • Ensure delivery meets the integrity, quality, performance, and reliability requirements by building automated testing and regression suites and using DevOps principles.
  • Effectively manage a team of technical professionals by setting performance expectations, monitoring performance, and providing technical guidance and coaching. This includes leading the recruitment of talent and building high-performing teams.
  • Champion a customer-focused and high-performing culture and contribute to an inclusive work environment.
  • Manage relationships with business and technology leadership, consequently effective communication an audience at all levels and the ability to promote an idea and gain consensus is critical.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We’d love to work with you if you have:

  • 10+ years of software development experience with clear progression through the ranks, and 3+ years leading and building high-performance teams
  • Experiences in a technical role in an Agile environment
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale multi-year projects/program
  • Ability to lead and motivate software development teams on tight deadlines
  • Ability to quickly adapt and build a deep technical knowledge of their team’s deliverable and operating model
  • Ability to build and execute on a strategic roadmap by ruthlessly prioritizing value-added work
  • 5+ years of experience working with Java (e.g. Spring), Node-JS, React, and Javascript
  • 3+ years of experience working with and implementing workflows on Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint, and PEGA or equivalent
  • Have a continuous improvement mindset and be willing to lead by example
  • Familiar with open-source DevOps tools (Bitbucket/GIT, Jenkins, Artifactory, Gradle, Docker)
  • Significant hands-on experience with multiple programming languages and SOLID principles, experience with a wide spectrum of technologies with emphasis on low latency, scalable, fault-tolerant platforms/applications with 24-7 Availability
  • Solid understanding and practical experience with cloud platforms, with Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure preferred
  • Strong communication skills – will be speaking with Stakeholders, Business Partners, Operation Teams, and Developers (translating conversations into requirements)  
  • Solid understanding of wealth management concepts, and workflows. Examples include but not limited to:
    • Client Lifecycle Management (Onboarding, Servicing, etc.)
    • Master Data Management (Security, Client, Position, Transaction, etc.)
    • Client Reporting & Portal
    • Investment Performance & Benchmarking
    • Portfolio Management (Asset Allocation, Risk Management, Rebalancing, etc.)
    • Trading Lifecycle (Order Generation, Order Management, Execution, Settlements, etc.)
    • Investment Operations (Reconciliation, Trade Support, Account Servicing, etc.)
