A typical day for the Learning Strategist
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, Organizational Development & Education, the Learning Strategist will join a diverse team that is passionate about developing the knowledge, skills, and competencies of all our employees at APS. The Learning Strategist will have a strong background in training development, facilitation, and program management. Your effective facilitation skills will enable our learners to think for themselves and apply the training they’ve acquired back to their day-to-day. The Learning Strategist will be a key force in driving learning and development within APS, ultimately contributing to the professional growth and effectiveness of employees and the organization. To be successful in this role, the Learning Strategist will be proficient in:
- Facilitating group discussions and activities

In this role, the Learning Strategist will contribute to designing, delivering, and evaluating People and Culture programs aligned with APS’ strategic plan. These programs encompass employee engagement, succession planning, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, leadership development, change management, and performance management. APS continues to build a high-performing workforce by investing in our staff and this role will help support career development and succession planning programs for the organization. By implementing best practices in organizational development, you’ll drive positive transformation, leaving a lasting impact across APS.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline such as Business, Education, Human Resources, or Organizational Psychology.
- Three to five years of experience with training delivery and/or facilitation in a corporate environment.
- Completed certifications in instructional design, adult education, eLearning, and curriculum development from an accredited institution.
- Certified in change management, project management, executive coaching, or personality assessment administration.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Understanding of adult learning theory and practices. Various instructional design approaches, instruction methodologies, learner-centric design and learning solutions, and new development.
- Track record demonstrating a strong knowledge of how to design and deliver high-impact workforce performance, employee engagement, or other strategic talent initiatives with a keen understanding of the needs of diverse employee populations.
- Ability to assume a lead role in designing, implementing, and maintaining content and programs with organizational impact.
- Ability to deliver an instructor-led course to a diverse group of participants with varying knowledge, experience, and backgrounds.
- Excellent project coordination, organizational, and planning skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities while meeting quick deadlines.
- Ability to research and analyze information.
