Addictions and Mental Health Access 24/7 is an exciting new opportunity to offer a centralized and integrated intake using a “front door” location at Anderson Hall (Royal Alexandra Hospital). Reporting to the Care Manager and under the direction of the Program Manager for Urgent Services, the Clinical Supervisor functions in the context of a multi-disciplinary team that provides quality, client focused, recovery based, concurrent capable, culturally appropriate care to those seeking assistance/services within Addictions and Mental Health. The clinical supervisor provides leadership, mentorship and supervision. About Access 24/7: Access 24/7 will be a single point of contact for AHS and Covenant addiction and mental health services. The range of services include: assessment, crisis intervention, navigation assistance, and stabilization services to the residents of the City of Edmonton and suburban areas. Access will conduct triage, screening and assessment in order to best match an individual’s need(s) to services and programs. Access 24/7 offers a wide range of services, as indicated, which offer the least intrusive and most appropriate services to clients and their families whether that be within clinic, community or client's home, which are based on the needs identified. As the Clinical Supervisor, you will be provide clinical supervision and mentoring for staff. You would be responsible to provide functional guidance to other staff concerning their clinical duties and professional development. Coordinate clinical case reviews and provide supervision. Develop, deliver, and evaluate education and orientation to staff.

Description:

As a Clinical Supervisor, you will provide clinical supervision for a discipline, practice area or service sector supporting clinicians to provide excellence in professional practice and enable quality, patient and family-centered care. In this clinical leadership role, you will provide clinical supervision to staff providing addiction and/or mental health services to individuals, families, and groups. This role involves supervision related to a range of assessment, mental health (psychosocial and psychological interventions), and other activities. You will be required to supervise regulated staff requiring supervision to meet the regulatory requirements for practice, and/or to unregulated staff providing the restricted activity of psychosocial intervention. This may include observing clinical sessions, reviewing clinical documentation and written reports, conducting team case consultations and offering support, and providing guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner. In your role, you may work with members of the interdisciplinary team, psychiatrists and community partners in support of effective professional and collaborative practice. You may contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of mental health treatment services in a hospital setting or community. You may also identify and address gaps in clinical practice as well as facilitate addressing of system level gaps and risk management issues. You may provide support to leadership in the hiring, orientation and performance evaluation of clinical staff.

Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree in Psychology or Social Work. Active or eligible for full registration (not provisional) with College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP) or the Alberta College of Social Work (ACSW). A minimum of 5 years' experience in providing mental health assessment and intervention, including restricted activity of psychosocial intervention.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 – 6 years of recent experience in addictions and mental health, preferably in community setting. Knowledge and skill in mental health assessment, risk assessment, crisis intervention, treatment, brief solution focused therapy or equivalent. Experience working with community and external stakeholders. Strong abilities in working within a multidisciplinary team and demonstrated contribution in emerging programs is essential. Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP). Efficient with LOCUS tool (Level of Care Utilization System).

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference to those with experience working in and with crisis response, community outreach, and 24-hour programs. Familiarity or experience working with law enforcement and external partners would be an asset.
