Raise is hiring a BA Research Management System (RMS) for Our Client, one of Canada's top comprehensive research Universities. This position is a five (5) month contract, with the possibility of an extension, located in Calgary, Alberta. Description

The Business Analyst in this role will report to the Associate Director of IT Investment Office (ITIO), the and will be responsible for the requirements deliverables of the projects assigned as well as ensuring adherence to University Policies, the ITIO Methodology, and specific Solution Delivery processes and standards.

Description Of Services And Deliverables

  • Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the project team and key stakeholders to elicit information required to produce BA and Training deliverables as needed.
    • Business Requirement Documents
    • Process modeling
    • Gap Assessment
    • Risk Assessment
    • Test Plan / Test Case
    • Training Plan
  • Ensure adherence to the ITIO Methodology, use of our BA standard templates as well as the specific Solution Delivery processes and standards.
    • Liaise with the ITIO group for additional guidance on ITIO BA standards.
    • Ensure all project documentation and deliverables are stored in the official SharePoint project repository.
    • Ensure that project decisions are formally documented as per ITIO Methodology.
    • Provide reporting and status updates to the ITIO team as required.
    • Ensure compliance with University standards, policies and procedures.

    • Organizational Structure and Roles,
    • Process, Policy and Procedure,
    • Applications, Infrastructure and Data.
    • Risk Assessment
    • Benefit and Measures Identification
    • Requirements Analysis, Requirements Management and Solution Design
    • Perform Fit-Gap Analysis
    • Work with stakeholders to elicit and prioritize Business, Functional, Non-Functional and Transition Requirements.
    • Work with technical and vendor teams to elicit technical requirements.
    • Trace all requirements through design, testing and quality assurance.
    • Assist in the determination of solutions with associated costs and risks.
    • Coordinate requirement and business design approvals/changes.
    • Solution Implementation
    • Assist technical teams in understanding requirements and business design so that effective technical solutions are implemented.
    • Build out people, policy, and process deliverables.
    • Transition to operations
    • Build Support and Governance models with technical teams.
    • Quality Assurance
    • Develop test strategy & test plan.
    • Test execution and defect tracking.
Required

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience as a Business Analyst.
  • Strong background in data conversion and mapping from third-party systems to PeopleSoft.
  • Previous experience with PeopleSoft FSCM 9.2, especially Grants, Contracts and Project costing
  • Current experience preferred, the University is on FSCM Image 49 and PeopleTools PT 8.60.
  • Experience in developing and delivering detailed requirements.
  • Experience working on enterprise level programs and familiarity with BA methodologies and tools.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills and a demonstrated ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strategic, critical and analytical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Influence and engage all levels of stakeholders and support change.
  • Must be:
    • flexible and able to work in a dynamic environment and changing situations
    • a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others
    • able to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
