Senior Estimator

Our client is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their team in Edmonton. The ideal candidate will be an analytical thinker with a background in mechanical or refrigeration estimation in the commercial sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in accurately assessing project requirements and costs.

Your Success Will Be Defined By Your Ability To

• Review project specifications and collaborate with stakeholders to understand project scope.
• Analyze plans to determine material, labor, and equipment requirements.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical projects using advanced software such as AutoBid, Bluebeam.
• Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Present detailed proposals to clients, showcasing project scope, costs, and timelines in person or virtually.
• Maintain a comprehensive material database to enhance estimating accuracy.
• Attend, contribute to, and demonstrate top performance in daily sales training and development courses offered by the company.
  
  

Your strengths include:

• Journeyman certificate in Sheet Metal/HVAC or Plumbing is required.
• In addition to a Journeyman certificate, equivalent experience in a previous estimation role is also required.
• Experience with integrating into building management systems (BMS) is an asset.
• Strong understanding of mechanical or refrigeration systems and codes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Proficiency with estimating software and tools such as AutoBid, Bluebeam, and Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
