Business Systems Analyst (Cyber Security)

On behalf of our client, Affinity is seeking a Business Systems Analyst whose primary responsibilities will be to gather, document, and analyze the business needs and translates them into functional (system workflows, reporting, business rules, etc.) and technical (performance needs, security, integration methods, etc.) requirements for the technology solution. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and the technical team to ensure the solution aligns and is configured to meet the business’s needs.
Role Overview
- Works under the direction of Program Manager and work closely with the Cyber Security Architect and other Cyber Security team members.
- Gathers and documents business & technical requirements from stakeholders.
- Creates & executes test plans in conjunction with other project resources.
- Works with multiple partners / vendors to ensure project deliverables are consistent and meets documentation standards.
- Assists with the creation of project plans and related PM deliverables.
- Assists with management of project schedules, coordinates recurring project meetings, producing minutes & tracking action items.
- Maintains the program Risk, Action, Issues and Decision (RAID) log.
- Prepare program status reports and assists with creating of steering committee presentations working with other members of the program team.
- Is a liaison between partner teams and internal project stakeholders.
Top Skills Necessary
• BSA Experience – 5+ years of experience eliciting business and data requirements from users and translating requirements into various artifacts such as data mapping, UML diagram, ERD and technical specifications as well as creating and maintaining project plans, sprint backlogs, and other Agile artifacts to track progress and manage priorities.
- Cyber Security experience - 2+ years of project experience related to Cyber Security such as:
- Asset and configuration management, vulnerability detection and remediation, particularly in an operational technology (OT) environment
- Identity and access management (IAM) including authentication & authorization mechanisms.
- Data Security including file-level encryption, device/disk encryption, data loss prevention, data sensitivity and compliance.
- Endpoint and device security including mobile device management (MDM).
- Threat detection and analysis including logging, SIEM tools.
- Implementing solutions via automation or orchestration.
- Incident Response, Malware analysis or penetration testing
- Any implementation experience of enterprise IT security applications such as M365, Azure, Windows, InTune, Entra and Defender, Splunk, Crowdstrike etc
