This is a permanent opportunity, responsible for day-to-day accounting and cash management.


Key Responsibilities for the Job:


  • Lead the accounting team in the full accounting cycle, including A/P, A/R, collections, general ledger, cost recovery, and payroll
  • Post and maintain general, recurring, and standard journals, including payroll
  • Reconcile bank accounts daily and monthly; reconcile various GL accounts monthly
  • Maintain fixed asset records and review and post monthly depreciation
  • Assist in budgeting and forecasting by scheduling expenditure reviews, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
  • Assist in developing forecasting models and key performance indicators
  • Manage reconciliations between affiliated companies and the parent company
  • Month-end closing
  • Investigate and correct errors in variance and GRN Suspense accounts
  • Submit monthly reports to various regulatory and financial agencies
  • Support year-end audit as needed
  • Identify and recommend solutions for internal control and financial reporting issues
  • Perform additional duties as needed


Experience & Attributes for Success:


  • CPA designation, or working towards CPA designation is preferred
  • 3 - 5 years’ progressive accounting experience
  • Experience working within the manufacturing industry is a definite asset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel; knowledge of Syspro ERP is a plus
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial management
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analysis/problem-solving skills
  • Effective time management and ability to meet deadlines while handling issues diplomatically
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with strong internal and external customer service abilities
  • Self-motivated and capable of leading the accounting function in the Controller's absence
  • Adaptable and flexible in a fast-paced, changing environment, with a natural curiosity and willingness to learn new skills
