Therefore, we are currently looking to fill the position of Manager, Data Insights & Analytics (Customer & Grid) to join us in supporting Nova Scotia Power’s journey of value creation through data.

As the leader of the Data Insights & Analytics Team you will play a vital role in leveraging data to inform customer insights, optimize operations, enhance efficiency, and drive strategic decision-making. You will advance the data analytics practice in Nova Scotia Power by leading a team of data professionals and through ongoing collaboration with data and business leaders across the organization to develop innovative, value-based solutions for customers. This important role exists within the Customer & Grid Intelligence team of Nova Scotia Power

Key Elements Of This Role Include

As the Manager, Data Insights & Analytics (Customer & Grid), you will be accountable to deliver value through data. You will have the opportunity to:

    • Lead a team of data analytics specialists to create analytics products to support the customer & grid management business functions.
    • Develop and maintain outstanding working relationships with leaders from a variety of business domains including customer service, engineering, operations, asset management, and IT.
    • Maintain visibility and alignment of analytics work across business domains to effectively prioritize use cases and allocate resources to support NS Power strategic objectives.
    • Manage external product and service providers in the delivery and ongoing support of analytics solutions.
    • Stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and methodologies in data science, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and identify opportunities to apply them to enhance processes and products.
    • Champion the value of analytics to educate and influence the development of analytics skills across the organization.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (such as data science, statistics, or engineering)
  • Proven experience in data analytics, preferably within the energy sector
  • Knowledge and practical experience in machine learning, statistical modeling, predictive analytics, and data visualization techniques.
  • Proven team leadership, motivational and performance management skills
  • Strong written and presentation skills with the ability to organize and convey complex analytics content in a compelling way
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver multiple initiatives and objectives within established timelines
  • Experience managing vendors / external service providers
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with the ability to influence and resolve complex and critical issues
  • Capable of delivering value-based outcomes in support of an industry sector undergoing a generational transformation
  • Innovation mindset to support the identification, analysis, and recommendation of new value opportunities
