We are looking for a Payers Solutions Lead (PSP Focus) who is an integral part of the Access, Sustainability and External Engagement team, a dynamic and diverse group of professionals who are committed to delivering value to patients, payers, and health care providers, to join us in our APEX team, based in our Oakville office in Oakville, Ontario, Canada.

About The Role

You will report to and work closely with the Head of Access Sustainability & External Engagement team, to lead patient access related PSP activities and initiatives, and provide back-up for Access and other Payers-related activities, as needed.

Who You’ll Work With

You will work closely with the Patient Experience Lead, Payers Solutions Lead (Access Focus), and Business Units Heads of Immunology and Neurology/Rare. You will also interact closely with cross-functional teams such as the UCB Canada Insights to Impact team, UCB Regional (Intercontinental Markets) Medical Affairs, Marketing, Sales, Legal, and Finance, as needed.

What You’ll Do

  • Deeply understands the access environment and advises on appeals, compassionate, etc. Accurately assesses reimbursement risks, identifies areas to improve time to commercialization, and ensures alignment of PSP strategy with access strategy and opportunities.
  • Contributing to payers and patient focused Patient Support Program (PSP) strategies for all products across the UCB-Canada Portfolio.
  • Being the primary contact for managing payer related patient support program considerations (i.e., providing insights on drug plan structure, listing criteria, commercialization probability etc.).
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with payer-related PSP activities, developing contingency plans to address potential issues.
  • Participating in the cross-functional launch excellence meetings for new assets, emphasizing the role and benefits of patient support programs from a payer perspective.
  • Actively participate in patient, PSP and other stakeholder advisory boards for insights in the unmet needs the solutions will address and how best to deliver the solution (jointly, with other function/APEX team members).
  • Continuously monitor market trends, policy changes, and payer landscape to proactively adjust PSP strategies and ensure they remain relevant and effective.
  • Provide training and education to internal and PSP teams on payer-related topics, including market access strategies and payer requirements
  • Support Payer Solutions Lead (Access focus) as a back-up, as needed (i.e., negotiation strategy, PLA management, PLA invoices etc.

Interested? For this role we’re looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline
  • Proven track record in the design and implementation of patient-centric PSPs and/or patient access strategies that have led to successful Public and Private reimbursement outcomes
  • Insight into emerging Market Access trends
  • Ability to effectively work in teams, collaborate, lead by influence, negotiate, bring creative and innovative ideas to the table
  • Positive “can-do” mindset
  • Financials and business acumen
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English language,
  • Bi-lingual (English/French) will be preferred
  • Fully Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
