Make an impact with our Consumer Insolvency team as a Tax Preparer. This diverse team of professionals performs a variety of Consumer Insolvency related duties in support of our firm’s business operations. As a trusted advisor, you’ll identify challenges, problem solve and drive efficiencies while contributing to the success of our firm and our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Working with the consumer insolvency team in the administration of bankruptcy estates.
  • Responsible for preparing complete and accurate personal income tax returns in a high volume practice.
  • Proficiency working with income tax software and related document management software
  • Respond to client questions and queries
  • Following up with clients regarding missing information, general questions.
  • Identify issues and errors, investigate discrepancies
  • Reconciling Notices of Assessment to income tax returns filed.
  • Interacting with Canada Revenue Agency for any discrepancies.
  • Manage multiple files simultaneously
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processes
  • Completion of the income tax returns is expected to be in the office.
  • The position can be located in: Burlington, St. Catharines, Toronto, London or Kitchener.


Skills And Experience

  • Post-secondary degree or certificate in accounting or tax is considered an asset; equivalent experience will also be considered
  • 2 to 3 years of tax return preparation experience
  • Experience in an accounting, customer service and/or client service environment is preferred
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software is considered an asset
  • Experience working in the Consumer Insolvency industry is considered an asset
