EY Canada is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance Functional Lead (Manager) to join our growing Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations team. Our Microsoft solutions group extends from advisory and planning, design and architecture, implementation, and training to business adoption. With our extensive network of industry experts working across four service lines, EY is uniquely positioned as a leader in helping our clients capitalize on increasing finance and data-centric digital transformation strategies.
Your Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Requirements Gathering:
- Lead client meetings to understand their financial processes and requirements, focusing on key finance areas such as general ledger, financial accounting and reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, cash management, and fixed asset management.
- Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather both business and technical requirements related to financial modules.
- Analyze client needs to propose customized solutions using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance modules, ensuring alignment with their financial and accounting practices.
Solution Design:
- Develop and present comprehensive solution designs that align with the client's financial use cases and objectives, leveraging deep finance domain expertise.
- Collaborate with sector-specific domain experts to ensure solutions meet industry-specific financial needs.
- Provide expert advice on the capabilities and limitations of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance to inform client decision-making.
- Design and validate solutions that integrate seamlessly with clients' existing financial systems and workflows, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and oversee the work of senior consultants and offshore delivery team members, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables.
- Validate the work and deliverables of team members, providing guidance and mentorship as needed.
- Coordinate with developers and technical specialists for advanced customizations and integrations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and financial requirements.
Project Management Support:
- Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of milestones.
- Assist in project planning, resource allocation, and risk management, focusing on the financial impact of decisions.
- Provide regular updates to stakeholders on project progress and challenges, with a focus on finance-related aspects.
Quality Assurance and Testing:
- Oversee the testing of configured financial solutions to ensure they meet client requirements.
- Lead the development of test scenarios and coordinate user acceptance testing for finance modules.
- Address any issues or feedback during the testing phase promptly, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance.
Training and User Support:
- Develop and deliver training materials and sessions for end-users, with a focus on finance-specific functionalities.
- Provide support during the initial deployment phase to ensure smooth transition and adoption of the Dynamics 365 Finance solution.
- Offer post-deployment support and guidance to maximize the use of the Dynamics 365 Finance platform.
Deployment and Rollout:
- Oversee the deployment of the solution in the client's financial environment.
- Ensure a smooth transition from the old system to the new Dynamics 365 Finance solution, with a focus on minimizing disruption to financial operations.
- Provide support during the initial stages post-deployment to address any immediate concerns related to financial processes.
Continuous Improvement and Updates:
- Stay updated with the latest developments in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance, particularly in relation to finance processes and compliance.
- Recommend and implement updates and improvements to clients' financial solutions as needed.
- Ensure solutions remain effective and efficient in meeting clients' evolving financial needs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with solution architects, other consultants, and domain experts to ensure a holistic approach to solution development, particularly in the finance domain.
- Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring a clear understanding of financial requirements and solutions.
- Contribute to the overall success of the team by sharing knowledge and best practices in finance and accounting.
To qualify for this role, you must have:
Experience in Consulting and Project Delivery:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in consulting environments, with a focus on finance process design and ERP implementation.
- Deep experience across finance business processes such as general ledger, financial accounting and reporting, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, cash management, and fixed asset management.
- Proven track record in configuring and delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance solutions.
- Experience in leading and participating in requirements workshops, interviews, and training sessions.
Accounting Qualifications:
- Preference will be given to candidates with advanced accounting designations (e.g., CPA, CMA, CA) and experience in full-cycle accounting.
Microsoft Certifications:
- Relevant and up-to-date Microsoft certifications in Dynamics 365 Finance and related technologies.
- Continuous learning attitude to stay updated with the latest Microsoft technologies and certifications.
Language and Communication Skills:
- Proficiency in English, both in spoken communication and technical writing.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, essential for client interactions and documentation.
- Comfortable with collaboration, open communication, and proactive engagement with cross-functional teams and customers.
Analytical Skills:
- Strong capability in analyzing and understanding complex financial business problems.
- Ability to model data and processes effectively using tools like Visio or similar modeling applications.
Technical Proficiency:
- Experience with Azure DevOps, demonstrating skills in managing development and deployment processes.
- Familiarity with software implementation and development methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Proficiency in configuring Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance to meet specific business requirements.
Documentation Skills:
- Ability to document functional and user requirements clearly and comprehensively.
- Experience in creating detailed project documentation, user guides, and training materials.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Strong team player with experience in working collaboratively with technical teams, including developers, solution architects, and project managers.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment, bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Client-Facing Skills:
- Experience in managing client expectations and building strong client relationships.
- Ability to present complex technical information in a clear and understandable manner to clients.
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of integrating Dynamics 365 Finance with other business systems and applications.
- Understanding of the broader Microsoft ecosystem, including Office 365 and Azure services.
Ideally you will also have:
- Work experience in a professional services environment a definite asset
- This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and professionals nationally and globally. Professional competency in the English language is therefore a requirement of this role. Bilingualism in both French and English is considered an asset.

The salary range for this job in British Columbia is $92,000 to $ 165,500 Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and work location city.
