Job Description

Under the general direction of the Audit Manager, the position of Auditor is to process purchasing activities for all goods and services required by Casino Pickering, facilitating invoice approvals, assisting with employee expenses, and other general accounting, audit, and financial analysis activities in accordance with the established Casino Pickering & GCGC policies and procedures and AGCO rules and regulations.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure proper controls are in place to protect company assets and in accordance with Departmental and/or Internal Control Manuals;
  • Verifies and completes daily drop revenue information for table games and slots;
  • Performs monthly audits, auxiliary compartment audits, card audits, secondary chip seals, etc.;
  • Performs coin cage, cash cage and chip audits and signature card audits as required;
  • Performs variety of audit duties including but not limited to: auditing/reconciling daily paperwork, preparing and posting journal entries;
  • Notifies supervisor of any discrepancies; prepares exception and machine service reports
  • Prepares daily and monthly reports as required;
  • Reviews and tests the propriety of signatures on all documents on a daily basis;
  • Ensures compliance with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) regulations and other applicable laws, policies and regulations;
  • Other duties as assigned by the Audit Manger and/or Financial Controller.

Education And Qualification Requirements

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in Accounting or designation in the Accounting field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Accounting experience
  • Advance Microsoft skills in Word and Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently as well as a member of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to take the initiative
  • Excellent customer service skills in order maintain a good rapport with vendors, employees and management
  • Willing to work flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and overnight shifts
  • Ability to obtain registration as a Category 2 Gaming Assistant with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

  • Every team member will be familiarized with the business process documentation and internal control objectives related to their position, and how their job description aligns with specific internal control activities for which they are responsible.
  • Adhering to all company and regulatory policies as they relate to functions of the position.

Licensing And Certification Requirements

Permanent employment is dependent upon the authorization and continued approval of the Provincial/State Regulatory Bodies. New employees will complete an application and will begin work after regulatory approval is granted. Existing team members will reapply as necessary, and continuing work will be dependent upon successful reapplication.
