Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Suite
  • Post secondary diploma or degree in mathematics or engineering


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of relevant construction and/or highway maintenance industry experience
  • Experience with estimating and software e.g. HeavyBid an asset
  • Knowledge of MTO or other contracts
  • Familiarity with roadway construction and maintenance
  • Familiar with accounting and billing process


Day in the life:

As a Data and Contracts Analyst supporting our construction and highway maintenance divisions, you will navigate contracts and decipher project plans to build projects and estimates per specifications. Meticulously, you will perform accurate material and quantity take-offs, help prepare detailed estimates from first principals, and analyse cost history for reference when required.

You will be required to solicit quotations, and engage in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors. You will also be attending pre-bid, post-bid and post-award meetings as well as assist with smooth project transition from pursuit to execution when successful.

You will be asked to perform market analytics and market soundings for this group and possibly others and required to make presentations of your findings. While maintaining close contact with the project managers, you will assist in the preparation of change orders and maintain excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and the public. You will not be limited to being just a numbers’ expert, you're also an expert in ensuring contract compliance and government regulations are met.
