Activities may include, but are not limited to:

 

Quality Technician Focus

  • Tests and inspects products at various stages of production process and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products. 

  • Performs analyses and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property. 

  • Reviews production records for conformance to procedures. 

  • Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged or tested products. 

  • Records statistical data. Analyzes data and writes summaries to validate or show deviations from existing standards. 

  • Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods and procedures.

  • Uses gauges and other devices to verify conformity to standards of product. 

  • May assist in implementing a total quality management program and/or train others on total quality management.

 

Observing, Recordkeeping & Evaluating

  • Makes and records observations; performs calculations, analyzes data and collects and prepares data for evaluation. 

  • Interpret analytical results, draw conclusions and theories, and communicate the impact of product performance.  Interpret and analyze data to provide conclusions and recommendations for product development, problem solving, and continuous product improvement.

  • Deliver timely and accurate analytical results and technical reports for the purposes of supporting research projects, testing, troubleshooting and resolving customer complaints, as well as performing competitive product benchmarking, developing or improving existing products and supporting the various business or commercial teams.  Provide written and graphical reports utilizing basic statistical tools and methods.

  • Makes recommendations regarding improvements to test methodology. 

  • Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements. 

  • Document detail of process, which can be used for problem resolution, and understanding of product behavior under different processing conditions.

  • Prepare product preliminary data sheets as needed.

  • Provide reports on product testing to be utilized in customer presentations.  

  • Input/update all systems with details, results, and product specs.  

  • Create raw material specs and product specifications as needed.



  • High School Diploma or GED.  

  • 2+ years of experience in related field.
