We are currently looking for a Scrum Master to join our System Engineering team on the LC4ISR ISTAR program. You will play a key role in the delivery of critical capabilities for the Canadian Army.  You will be working with a multidisciplinary engineering team to deliver Intelligence, Reconnaissance, Target Acquisition and Surveillance capabilities into a fully integrated tactical network, capable of providing flexible, multi-role and combat-capable communications, command and control. You will be part of an agile development team, responsible for designing and building software components. 

This position will combine a system lead role with a team scrum master role responsible for technical leadership of both our internal teams and our sub-contract teams that combine to create the ISTAR ART.

    The following are typical responsibilities:

    • Problem solve to understand the cause and effect in complex systems
    • Review technical documentation, provide analysis
    • Investigate system defects and raise problem reports
    • Assist in planning and coordinating test activities
    • Prepare requirements documents and specifications
    • Develop, document, and review system designs and use cases, define system interfaces, and conduct analyses with support from lead and other senior engineers.
    • Support external test events and field trials
    • Some work may involve Networking and routing (e.g. Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), Microsoft Applications, radio, voice and data networks and various automation)
    • Participate in an interdisciplinary team environment
    • Share knowledge and present ideas to colleagues
    • Expand knowledge of latest technologies, products and market trends relevant to area of work
    • Provide coaching and mentorship to team members
    • Act as scrum master to both internal and subcontract teams, ensure that the team adheres to its process in a fully functional and productive manner.
    • Encourage and monitor continuous improvement opportunities  


    • Knowledge of system engineering fundamentals
    • Knowledge of system and qualification test fundamentals
    • Knowledge and use of requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS)
    • Knowledge and use of problem reporting tools (e.g. ClearQuest)
    • Communication skills (verbal and in writing)
    • Problem solving and root cause analysis skills
    • Time management skills to meet schedule and budget targets
    • Ability to understand complex technical systems
    • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
    • Five years of relevant experience
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain Canadian Security Clearance and a positive Controlled Goods Assessment. Eligibility to work in Canada either as a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
