The Opportunity

The Catalis team is hiring a full-time senior level IBMi Systems Administrator to be responsible for the design, deployment and management of the IBMi server environment. This position is located at our Edmonton office working normal business hours and will report directly to the Director of Systems Engineering.

What You Will Do

  • Configure and maintain an existing IBMi environment; hardware, operating system software and related plugins
  • Assist with system administration, perform system updates, and monitor for issues
  • Troubleshoot, triage and fix any issues that arise in the IBMi environment
  • Provide support for users and collaborate with company leadership to plan and implement software updates, handle backups, and propose strategic process improvements
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Ensure patched and up-to-date systems
  • Monitor backups
  • On-call schedule

Requirements

What you Will Need to Succeed

  • 3 to 5 years of proven experience as an IBMi administrator
  • Strong knowledge of IBM iSeries hardware, operating system (OS/400), and related software
  • Proficiency in user and security management on the iSeries platform
  • Experience with backup and recovery procedures
  • High level of customer service with excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in design documentation and scoping
  • Work as a member of an IT engineering team
  • Self-motivated desire to learn new technology
  • Excellent phone, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple priorities and/or projects simultaneously
  • Excellent organizational skills
