Job Title: Senior Transport Planner Location: London Service Area: Environment and Climate Change - Climate Change and Transport We are looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Transport Planner to join our dedicated Environment and Climate Change team. In this role, you will help shape the future of our transport network by developing policies, initiatives, and projects that align with our ambitious transport strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to lead key transport projects that aim to improve public spaces, reduce emissions, and create a more sustainable future for our community. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the development of policies, initiatives, and projects that align with the council's Transport Strategy. Oversee a complex work programme, including budget, stakeholder, and risk management, ensuring all projects are delivered to the highest standard. Prepare and manage funding bids and grant-funded programmes. Collaborate closely with stakeholders, partners, and colleagues to deliver projects that achieve the best outcomes for the council. Provide expert transport planning advice and contribute to the delivery of a forward-thinking and impactful transport network. Assist with procurement processes, including preparing consultant briefs, evaluating tenders, and managing contractors and consultants. Requirements: A degree in transport planning, urban design, civil engineering, or project management with at least one year of professional experience, or four years of related work experience. Strong experience in managing and delivering transport-related initiatives, policies, and projects, including budget management, procurement, and risk management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences. Proficiency in software such as Outlook, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and at least one specialised program (e.g., QGIS, Adobe Illustrator, AutoCAD). A proactive, adaptable, and optimistic approach, with the ability to perform under pressure and build positive relationships with stakeholders
