Role
Reporting to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Health Workforce, you will lead a team responsible for the development and implementation of health workforce strategies, as well as coordinating programs and services related to the development of Alberta’s health workforce. Collaborating closely with partners across the system, you will advance innovative approaches that are responsive and solution-focused to meet evolving department needs. Your ability to establish a foundation of trust, respect and credibility quickly with your team, colleagues and clients, as well as the quality of your leadership and relationships, will be foundational and critical to your success.

The position is responsible for leading the development of health workforce policy that leads to the strategic advancement of health workforce programs and frameworks to achieve a high quality, accessible, and sustainable health system. The position works collaboratively with key subject matter areas to identify emerging trends and significant developments in other jurisdictions and communicates these as appropriate to the Assistant Deputy Minister/Deputy Minister or other ministries.

Qualifications
Recognized as an influential leader with a strategic focus, your background includes extensive related senior management experience with strengths in workforce planning, policy framework development, and legislative and regulatory processes. You have in-depth knowledge of the Alberta health care environment and understand the health sector workforce and labour market conditions. Your track record demonstrates an ability to promote change, inspire innovative approaches and motivate teams to achieve results. An exceptional capacity for stakeholder collaboration and engagement, superior communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence are essential for success in this relationship-focused role. A related degree is preferred.

Salary
$5,082.46 - $6,679.30 bi-weekly ($132,652 - $174,329 annually)
