Role Responsibilities

Reporting to a Senior Manager, this position as part of the Regional Management Team is responsible for Business Operations Support Functions, regional tracking and data analysis, supporting the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Program and other related business activities that support Regional Service Delivery for Children and Family Services in Edmonton Region.

As a Regional Business Coordinator, you will take lead in developing and maintaining a regional administrative organizational structure with the goal of workload equity and work closely with the Region’s Workforce Development team to provide regional data analysis that supports ongoing operations amongst all roles, while forecasting organizational needs. You will collaborate with peers on provincial initiatives and foster cross-regional consistency with multiple other internal and external stakeholders on regional topics.

As a Regional Business Coordinator, you will support regional administrative work to ensure adherence to departmental policies, procedures and legislation and provide policy interpretation as needed.

The position is also accountable for supporting the implementation of a comprehensive OHS plan that will result in an effective and efficient collaborative regional OHS program. You will support the Operational Manager to manage and direct the OHS function to ensure the region and its worksites meets Provincial OHS legislative requirements. The position provides support to the development, coordination and delivery of regional administrative and occupational health and safety training activities for staff.


This position provides data analysis for the portfolio area and supports Regional Business Administrator’s with developing tracking and analysis for their assigned site/program area to ensure regional workload equity and forecast future trends that impact regional operations.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must have:

  • Two-year diploma (preferably Business Administration) in a related field and five years of progressively responsible related experience.


Equivalencies:
Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of: one year of experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Supervisor or leadership experience.
  • Experience with developing, implementing, and coordinating business operation support functions.

Notes

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:30 pm (36.25 hours per week)

Travel and Vehicle Requirements 

Travel will be required in this role; therefore, final candidates for this position will be asked to provide a current 5-year Commercial Driver Abstract. Employees will be required to use their own vehicles when government fleet vehicles are not available. 

Employees must have a valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle that is suitable to the requirements of this position.
