Test Engineer General

Job Summary

Our client in Kanata, ON is looking for a Test Engineer General. This is a contract position.

What You Will Do

Software Development Engineer in Test The successful candidate will be part of the Stability Test Automation team involved in the development and execution of automated tests to aid the delivery of the latest automotive infotainment and connectivity technologies. The Software Development Engineer in Test will focus on the development and maintenance of tests and the automated pipeline that will execute them. Also, root cause analysis of the failures encountered and assisting the product development teams on resolving those defects as soon as possible.

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Develop/maintain automated test scripts and tools in Python to verify new feature functionality.
  • Develop/maintain automated test execution pipeline.
  • Perform automated test execution and results analysis, root cause issues and validate fixes.
  • Contribute to code quality by participating in code reviews.
  • Interface with development and test teams to understand testing requirements.


Basics

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Analytical with the ability to root-cause problems creatively and effectively.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, resourceful.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-starter, resourceful.
  • 5+ year experience with object-oriented analysis and design, multi-threading, algorithms, and data structures.
  • 5+ year experience in Python development (coursework and/or research allowed).
  • Position fully onsite.


Preferred

  • Experience with CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) systems (i.e.: Jenkins).
  • Experience with batch and shell scripting (Windows and Linux command line scripting).
  • Experience with embedded OS (QNX, Linux).
  • Experience with microcontrollers.
  • Experience with automated testing environments and frameworks (i.e.: PyTest, unit testing, Slash).
  • Experience with Groovy, Java development.
  • Experience with automated GUI testing solutions (i.e.: Squish, Selenium).
  • Experience with agile methodologies.
