Your Opportunity
As a Mental Health Counsellor you will be part of the team in the fast-paced practices of family physicians. You will work collaboratively with other health professionals to provide comprehensive, accessible primary health care, honouring patient choice in how best care will be delivered (in-person, telephone, video).
In addition to providing excellent mental health assessments and treatment to primary care patients across the age span, you will support the mental health care capacity of the team.

- Understand and respond to the social determinants of health, working toward greater health equity
- Have an anti-oppressive practice, embracing the diversity of our community, including race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, and gender identity
- Appreciate the flexibility of providing telephone, video and in-person care, with potential to have a hybrid work in office/work from home schedule.
- Excellent clinical skills and minimum 3 years' experience assessing and managing mental health problems commonly seen in primary care, working across the age span including children, youth, parents, couples and adults
- Formal training and experience in evidence-based treatments such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EFFT etc
- Extensive mental health clinical training, generally acquired through the completion of post graduate studies (MSW,RN,BScN,CPMHN(C) or equivalent) and membership in a professional college
- Proof of Covid 19 immunization and Criminal Records Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening
