As a Senior Business Relationship Manager (SBRM), senior lender in the department, responsibilities & accountabilities include: proactively identifying and pursuing new sources of business and when appropriate referring business to specialists within the credit union; providing support and advice to other Credit Union employees where required; ensuring all products and services provided are in compliance with relevant legislation, regulations, risk tolerances, policies and procedures; ensuring the credit union's goals and objectives are met, and that members receive seamless, quality service that provides them with value that meets or exceeds expectations.

What You Will Do

  • Maintain network of key contacts (centers of influence), enhances the credit union’s image and reputation through effective public relations including presentation to business members.
  • Represent the credit union in the community, and at business events (e.g. Chamber of Commerce, professional organizations, etc.).
  • Review assigned portfolio and ensures customers have appropriate lending and other products.
  • Refer customers to appropriate PCU Lines of Business including Personal Banking, Cash Management, Wealth Planning or Leasing divisions if opportunities are apparent.
  • Negotiate and implement revised or new banking arrangements for members and/or prospects.
  • Promote products and services such as business payroll services, merchant services, business Visa and any other cash management products and services provided by PCU or preferred partners.
  • Contact developers within market area to identify potential opportunities.
  • Complete due diligence and investigation; analyze and interpret financial and other information; assesse value of security; make recommendations for new loans, loan renewals and amendments within the guidelines outlined in PCU lending policy and procedures
  • Review each borrower at least annually, coordinate financial information requirements with CSA & Analyst; analyze information received to assess risk and determine individual client strategies; develop action plans to minimize Credit Union exposure where appropriate and identify solicitation opportunities for commercial, leasing and retail branches
  • Prepare recommendations to renew or not and refers to appropriate adjudication level for approval if over discretionary authority. Review reports (e.g. overdraft, past due review, watchlist, delinquency and maturity) for the portfolio to identify potential problems and contacts customer to resolve issues; develop action plan to ensure risk is minimized.

What You Bring

  • 7+ years of progressive business lending experience with a real estate development lending focus
  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated sales and service experience in all communication channels
  • Demonstrated negotiation and business development skills.
  • In-depth understanding of accounting principles and financial statements, including cash flow and project financial analysis
  • In-depth understanding of loan documentation, legal and practical concepts of collateral.

Prospera offers a total compensation package of base pay plus incentives that is market competitive and reviewed against the market annually. Starting salary is normally targeted around the middle of the posted salary range, and is determined based on the successful candidate’s knowledge, experience and internal equity.
