Maintenance Engineer

Summit Search Group has been engaged by Bee Maid Honey Limited in the recruitment of their next Maintenance Engineer. Established in 1954, Bee Maid Honey Limited is the marketing arm of the Alberta Honey Producers Co-operative Limited and the Manitoba Cooperative Honey Producers Limited. Honey produced by beekeepers in Western Canada is processed and packaged at plants in Winnipeg, MB and Spruce Grove, AB. Bee Maid not only produces premium honey but also operates retail outlets in Spruce Grove, Winnipeg, and Tisdale, SK.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will oversee machinery maintenance, selection and management of subcontractors, and interacts with line staff, external contractors, and the Plant Manager daily. This position would also be responsible for helping ensure that all HACCP/SQF and Food Safety requirements are met

Responsibilitie

• s:Troubleshoot technical issues and perform variable maintenance on machine breakdowns and operatio
• n.Plan and prepare maintenance schedule. Perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdown
• s.Solve equipment problems (i.e. boiler system) and determine cost effective solutions to fix and operat
• e.Communicate frequently and regularly with Plant Manager, other Maintenance staff, Bee Supplies, Accounts Payable, plant, and laboratory staff on maintenance issue
• s.Communicate regularly with city officials and other external people about maintenance standards and legislated requirement
• s.Complete accurate documentation and maintenance of HACCP record
• s.Hire and supervise sub-trades for electrical, forklifts, boiler, roofing, and floorin
• g.Research contractors and source multiple quotes to ensure jobs are completed in a cost-effective and efficient manne

Qualificatio

• ns:5th Class Power Engineer, Millwright Red Seal, and/or Industrial Electrician Red Se
• al.Grade 12 High School Diploma (or equivalent) requir
• ed.3+ years’ experience in a similar working environme
• nt.Forklift certification considered a strong ass
