Your Opportunity:

Working within the mission, vision and values of Covenant Health, this position will report to the Manager, Volunteer Services. The Coordinator, Volunteer Services is responsible to maintain an effective and efficient volunteer service and is responsible for the intake process including: recruitment, selection, placement, orientation, and training to ensure volunteer assignments meet the needs of both the program and volunteers for the Grey Nuns Hospital and for the Covenant Wellness Community opening in fall 2025. As well, this position incorporates community involvement through work experience, event specific opportunities and actively participates on community and in-house committees. Please note: Must be able to travel between various sites/locations; and may require the use of a personal vehicle. Classifications Under Review.

Description: The Coordinator is responsible for maintaining effective and efficient operations within the department. This position uses specialized knowledge to support department activities. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the CUPE 41 Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications: Related certificate or equivalent required.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Experience as a volunteer in a hospital, or in the community is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven recent experience in managing and organizing volunteers preferred. Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology/Sociology/Humanities or Diploma in Human Resources is desired. Volunteer Management or Non-Profit Management Diploma is desirable. Prior employment in a hospital or health care setting desirable. Working knowledge of Microsoft. Excellent written, verbal communication skills, public speaking, interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
