The Payroll & Benefits Analyst is a payroll and benefits professional with an intermediate understanding of payroll and benefit practices, and Canadian legislations. The role is primarily responsible for payroll and benefits analysis and process efficiencies. It will also involve administering the company Benefit Programs and Payroll processing for a select few specialized locations. This role maintains employee records and ensures payroll & benefit data is collected, analyzed, and evaluated in accordance with Bayshore specifications.

The Payroll & Benefits Analyst reports to the Benefits Manager and the Senior Manager of Payroll. This role also collaborates with various departments and communicates with the larger branch network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and management of projects to improve operations and efficiencies.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for optimizing payroll & benefit processes.
  • Assist with implementation of new Payroll/HRIS/other systems.
  • Conduct monthly audits to ensure compliance with payroll & benefit regulations and best practices.
  • Work with Payroll & Benefits teams to streamline internal processes and Departmental tasks to increase productivity.
  • Assist with updating policies related to payroll & benefits, ensuring they are consistent with Bayshore’s goals and values.
  • Participation in special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely administration of the various benefit plans, including all Provincial Health Care Programs.
  • Assist with semiannual benefit reassessment and annual implementation of insurance carrier renewals.
  • Process and reconcile payrolls as required.
  • Responds to incoming calls and e-mails from multiple locations delivering the highest level of customer service.
  • Advises Branches/NSC on payroll & benefit related company policies and legislative requirements, in addition to ongoing proactive communications to all locations.
  • Responsible to remit, analyze and reconcile all payroll & benefit related government agencies and third-party vendors.
  • Liaise and communicate information with the Branch Offices, NSC, and third-party insurance carriers and agencies.
  • Participate in ongoing internal and/or external continuing education activities.
  • Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participates in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties. Is responsible to notify immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns. Responsible for completing Accident Reports for all direct reports who injure themselves on the job, within 24 hours of the incident.
  • Maintains confidentiality of client and corporate information and discusses same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
  • Complete other tasks as requested.

Work Location : Mississauga , Bayshore Healthcare, National Service Center ( Hybrid )

In this position you will work in hybrid model, with at least two days onsite weekly.

Education

  • Completion of a post-secondary program with a focus on business administration, human resources, or finance
  • Knowledge of Payroll / Accounting / HR / Benefits is preferred
  • Fluency in French (both verbal and written) is preferred, but not required

Experience

Experience in at least one of the below areas, gained through either education or work:

  • Benefits environment
  • Multiple provincial health care plans
  • Payroll processing
  • Data analysis, research, and evaluation
  • Advanced MS office applications - Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
  • PeopleSoft Payroll / HR application / UKG Pro – Preferred

Exceptional data analysis skills and proven ability to think critically when conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered; demonstrated ability to use knowledge, facts, and data to effectively problem solve; exceptional interpersonal skills and proven ability to work independently or in a team environment, including advanced communication skills both written and oral; providing excellent customer services internally as well as externally, including conflict resolution; strong sense of organization, attention to detail, time management, an ability to multi-task, to maintain a high level of productivity in a deadline-driven environment.
