About The Role

The Driver - Explosives delivers explosive materials to the relevant Orica (manufacturing plant, Orica customer service depot) or Customer Site (on site magazine), this may include operation, maintenance and upkeep of the delivery vehicle in a safe and environmentally conscious manner at all times and in line with approved standard and procedures.

What you will be doing

  • Deliver product to scheduled customers within established routes in an efficient and professional manner
  • Ability to maneuver on the road and on customer property in a safe manner.
  • Preventative maintenance, greasing schedule including focus parts and process to clean/change all filters.
  • Mechanical aptitude with ability to quickly determine potential issues and problem solve accordingly.
  • Perform safety pre/post trip inspections on truck and equipment to company safety standards
  • Complete fully and accurately all necessary paperwork in compliance with company procedures, and government regulations
  • Ability to familiarize with relevant Orica products and their associated unique handling characteristics.
  • Assist with incoming stock and rotate inventory as required.

What you will bring

  • Clean Driver's abstract
  • Class 3 License
  • High School diploma or equivalent a plus

Work Schedule

  • Monday to Friday
  • Ideally must be within 25 km of Terrace, BC site
  • Occasional weekend work
  • Overtime
  • Occasional out of town work/camp work

Salary to be determined by the applicant’s experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

Compensation Range

  • Between $32.00 - $38.00 per hour
